Certification

Graded independently, then held to a higher bar

Nothing leaves our atelier on our word alone. Every centre stone arrives with an IGI or GIA report, and then has to clear the Echols Standard before we will set it.

The report you receive

Your ring ships with the original independent grading report for the centre stone, listing carat weight, cut, colour, clarity, measurements, proportions and the laser-inscribed report number on the girdle.

You also receive a written appraisal at full replacement value, which is what your insurer will ask for.

The Echols Standard

  • Cut — Ideal or Excellent only. It is the one grade that is entirely human, and the one that decides how a stone sparkles.
  • Colour — D through G, so the stone faces up white in yellow gold, white gold or platinum.
  • Clarity — VS2 or better, eye-clean at arm's length and at close range.
  • Origin — certified lab-grown, fully traceable, with no conflict-sourcing question to ask.

Verify it yourself

Take the report number from your certificate and enter it in the IGI or GIA public report lookup. What you see there should match your paperwork exactly. If anything differs, tell us and we will make it right immediately.

Five checks before it ships

  1. 01

    Stone selection

Every centre stone is hand-picked from certified rough — D–G colour, VS2 or better, Ideal or Excellent cut.

  2. 02

    Independent certification

IGI or GIA grades the stone before it enters our workshop. The report ships with the ring.

  3. 03

    Setting under 10x

Prongs, pavé and halos are inspected under loupe magnification for seat, symmetry and security.

  4. 04

    Light review

Photographed and filmed in daylight and studio light. We walk you through the footage before it ships.

  5. 05

    Final measure

Weight, dimensions and finger size verified against your order, then hand-finished and boxed.
